Australia's Casey Dellacqua moved into the semi-finals of the Texas Tennis Open in Dallas, following a straight-sets victory over Canadian Aleksandra Wozniak.
Dellacqua, who entered the main draw via the qualifying rounds, beat Wozniak 6-4, 6-4.
The 27-year-old will enjoy a rise in the WTA rankings, currently holding down the lowly position of world 106.
She reached a career-high 39 in 2008.
Dellacqua will face second seed Jelena Jankovic of Serbia in the last four after the former world number one advance with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Romania's Sorana Cirstea.
In other action, Italy's third seed Roberta Vinci eliminated Chanelle Scheepers of South Africa 7-6 (7-1), 6-2 to reach the semi-finals.
Vinci next faces Bojana Jovanovski who was leading 6-4, 1-0 when China's Peng Shuai retired from their match early in the second set.
